Presentation of PP

The Parti Pirate (website) was founded on 21 June 2006, in the wake of the Swedish Piratpartiet, itself founded in January 2006. The party officially registered as an association on 9 March 2009; the registration was published on 4 April 2009 in the French official gazette.
In September 2009, Maxime Rouquet, then the Speaker of the party and today its President, obtained 2% of the cast of the votes in a legislative by-election held in the Department of Yvelines.

The party is member of "Pirate Parties International", the umbrella organization grouping different Pirate Parties, founded on 16 April 2010 in Brussels.

Flag of PP

The flag of the party (photos, 24 August 2011) is purple with the party's logo in the middle.
The logo of the Parti Pirate is made of a stylized black flag attached to a black mast, placed on a white disk surrounded with a black ring.
